Did you know that the Perth Children’s Hospital has an Immunisation centre for children?
The Stan Perron Immunisation Centre was officially launched on Tuesday 14th August.
The centre will work with hospital clinics and services to help ensure that all children who visit PCH have easy access to scheduled immunisations to help reduce the gap in WA’s current childhood immunisation.
The Perron Foundation has generously donated $2.7 million over five years to support the establishment of the Stan Perron Immunisation Centre.
Families attending the hospital in any capacity either as inpatients, outpatients, emergency department presentations or visitors (including parents and siblings), who are due a vaccination on the WA immunisation schedule are The service is free and no appointments or referral is necessary.
In addition to providing vaccinations, the centre also undertakes immunisation advocacy across WA including vaccine safety- surveillance, family education, telephone advice and immunisation resources.
Many children attending PCH are overdue routine vaccinations including those with chronic medical conditions whom are most at-risk of severe infection. The centre aims to ensure these children access immunisations before leaving the hospital, including the Influenza vaccine.
The centre is now fully operational.
